Animal Welfare Club

The goals of UGA CVM's Animal Welfare Club are to provide the College's students, faculty, and staff with information, guidance, programs, and resources regarding responsible animal treatment, usage of animals, and animal welfare. Through education, dialogue, and scientific inquiry, we strive to raise awareness of small, large, exotic, farm, and laboratory animal welfare issues and improve the understanding students have about ethical issues facing veterinarians in their careers.

The AWC is also interested in exploring effective non-terminal and non-animal teaching alternatives for learning introductory and advanced surgical skills, with the goal of reducing the need for terminal laboratory procedures while maintaining a rigorous curriculum.
