Society for Theriogenology

As a club, we have fall as well as spring lunch meetings where we try to stimulate interest and help students gain knowledge of Theriogenology. In the past we have had Ultrasound labs where students learn the basics of ultrasonography use in reproduction. This year we are working to have a Zoo Atlanta Trip with Dr.Fayrer-Hosken to explore reproduction of exotic species and how it differs in captivity.

•The current officers plan to add a New lunch meeting to the fall semester. This will allow us to have an introductory meeting with a speaker, and a more in depth meeting later in the semester.

• We are also looking forward to organizing a new trip with Dr. Fayer-Hosken to Zoo Atlanta for early fall 2008. He has recently played a role in successfully artificially inseminating an elephant in their collection; we plan to take a group of students along on one of his examinations of the pregnant elephant.
