The SCAVMA President is the chief executive officer of the SCAVMA Chapter and presides at all meetings of the Senate and the Executive Board. The president is able to appoint chairs to standing committees upon approval by the Executive Board and act as an ex-officio member of all committees with full power to supervise their work. He/she also acts as a liaison between the SCAVMA membership (student body) and the CVM faculty and administration. The President represents the UGA SCAVMA at school, community, and professional functions and holds the honor of representing the UGA College of Veterinary Medicine student body on the University Council, the University’s governing board. The President trains the President-elect in preparation for the following year and handles daily issues pertaining to SCAVMA and the student body.
